Welcome

Revelation Comments is an online notebook of my personal study of the book of Revelation. The interpretations in the commentary section are based on a pre-tribulational, pre-millennial view of Scripture. In view of the events transpiring in the world today, I believe we are in the latter part of what the Bible calls the "End times".  For those who interpret the Bible literally, I believe we are seeing world events coming in line to set the stage for the return of Jesus Christ. For those interested in studying prophecy, the "literal" view of interpreting Scripture has been the way prophecies have been fulfilled in the past. There is no reason to believe the rest of the prophecies will not be fulfilled in the same way. The literal method of interpretation acknowledges the fact that there are symbols and figures of speech, but also recognizes that such symbols are meant to symbolize actual things, people, and events. Also, for the careful student of Scripture, the symbols in Revelation are explained elsewhere in the Bible, so that the reader is not left to his own devices to try to determine the meaning of most of the symbolism used in the book.

For those embarking on a study of Revelation, I would also suggest an in-depth study of the book of Daniel. These two books studied together will provide a good foundation for understanding the times in which we live and what we can expect in the future.

The book of Revelation is the only book in the Bible which specifically pronounces a blessing on those who read it. As we get closer to the time of the Rapture and the return of Jesus Christ, we will see world events set the stage for the fulfillment of the prophecies in Revelation. I also believe a personal study of this book will realign the values of many Christians as they study the book and take to heart what is written therein.
